MOOTS Biography CHARLES M. MOOTS, farmer and stock-raiser, Sec. 30; P.O. Towanda; born in Champaign Co., Ohio, Feb. 10, 1832, where he resided until 1852, then removed to Logan Co., Ohio. In 1854, he came to Illinois, but returned to Ohio, where he remained until the spring of 1856, then located in Towanda, this county, where he engaged in the boot and shoe business, and the following year removed to the farm where he now resides. Owns 195 acres of land in Money Creek Township. Served as Constable two years, School Director nine years. Was appointed Deputy Sheriff in fall of 1879. Married, in September, 1857, Miss Adaline Busick, who was born in McLean Co. Her father, Nathaniel Busick, was one of the early settlers of McLean Co. Nine children by this union, seven of whom are living--Mary A., Francis N., Ida D., Charles E., Bunyan C., Bertie and Sarah G.: lost two--Lincoln A. was born May 6, 1865, died Aug 13, 1873; James W, was born May 25, 1871, died Aug 21, 1872. Mr. M. is a member of the Money Creek U. B. Church.
