He graduated from the Illinois Wesleyan University of Bloomington. For three years he practiced law in Ottawa, Ill. In 1893 he came to Chicago and became associated with the law firm of Rinaker and Ayers, which then became Ayers, Rinaker and Ayers. He was First Assistant City Attorney for two terms under John F. Smulski, becoming his successor later; and was Attorney for the Election Board for four years. He is now practicing law with his brother under the firm name of Ayers and Ayers.
