The Ladies Aid Society of the Congregational church were very pleasantly entertained by 
Mrs. Samuel Perry Thursday afternoon, June 1st.  The occasion being the birthday anniversary 
of Mrs. F. J. Parkhurst, as well as the last meeting with the society, before her departure 
for Europe, the president of the society, Mrs. J. B. Johnston, in behalf of the ladies, in a 
most felicitous manner presented Mrs. Parkhurst with a magnificent bunch of roses.  Mrs. Parkhurst 
responded in a few well chosen words.  Late in the afternoon a delicious collation was served 
by the hostess.
